I got the CD for the new Alice in Wonderland movie last night. Honestly, I expected something a lot more creepy and/or trippy because of the general feel of the movie.If you know me, you know that I'm not into the whole scary movie thing. I love rainbows and butterflies and happiness. I cry really easily at sad parts or extremely happy parts in films. Seriously. I cried during Where The Wild Things Are.
So, if I like happiness, you can probably imagine how I felt about the new creeptastic Alice in Wonderland. Don't get me wrong, if you're a Tim Burton fan, that film is definitely for you. But if you're like me and you enjoy the original Disney movie, you might not ever want to see that movie.
I think it's cool that Disney is expanding its horizons, what with movies like Alice in Wonderland and The Chronicles of Narnia. But me? I miss the good old animated films about unlikely princesses or little girls seeking adventure.
I wonder what good old Walt would think if he saw the Disney movies of today. Maybe they should unfreeze him and ask.
