Say What?

Who's ever heard of a summer cold? I sure as heck haven't. I don't think I've ever been sick sick in the summer before. Sure, I've had the occasional migraine (mostly chocolate-related...don't ask), but not can't-even-move-I'm-so-achey sick. That is, until this Sunday.

Remember all that fun stuff I was telling you about for the 4th of July? Yeah, I didn't get to do any of it because I was busy throwing up and having a fever, stuffed nose, and sore throat at my aunt's house. When this bug hit, it hit hard.

Getting sick during the school year is bad enough; you have to miss school where you never know if the material is seriously important or not. But even then, it's still nice to have a day off every now and again, no matter what the reason might be.

In the summer? Getting sick is not fun. Not fun at all. And I'm not just saying that because it ruined my vacation. I'm saying that because you could be out, enjoying the sunshine (or quarter size hail, as this weekend I was able to witness), reading a good book, getting a tan, exploring the great outdoors, etc. But no, you're stuck indoors sneezing and coughing your head off. Which is totally awesome too. Not.

Has anyone else heard of this elusive summer cold? If so, please forward its address to me so I can pay it a visit and kick it in the balls. Thanks.
