You wanna know what my dad always tells me? He says that my mom and I fight so often because we're both so much alike. I don't know if that's true, but let me tell ya, we fight almost every time we're in a room together. Most of the time, I try to play it off like it's no big deal, pretend I don't care, but it takes its toll on me.
I really don't like having this kind of a relationship with my mother. Shouldn't we be, like, best friends or something? It seems like a lot of my friends are really close to their moms. Why can't I have that?
I bring it up because today my mom and I got in a huge argument. She yelled at me for not doing the dishes (which I really don't have to wash until after dinner) and I sassed back. Yes, I'm a sassy pants. Long story short, I am now grounded.
